ON A WINTER'S DAY

Guest writer:

We are having a great time with my sister Carol and her husband Don who are visiting us for a few days. They want to start their own blog so today I let them experience what blogging is all about.

Don took the pictures (although my name appears on them) and Carol wrote the blog.

Enjoy, and once they set up their own blog I'll post their blog address.

Berrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it's -12*c but we bundled up and with a snowy world to explore we were ready to trek. Don't we look like we're having fun? Look at those healthy cheeks.

We have 33 acres to discover. Trails have been prepped and a light sprinkling of fresh snow makes for an energizing walk.

A pause to take closer stalk of our surroundings. Birds and wildlife are evident in abundance.

Had to visit the lake to check out Mary's fishing spot. A block of strategically placed styrofoam kept it open for future use. Maybe we can coax Mary back for a fishing trip tomorrow.

Ice is about 5 inches thick. Soon a track will be plowed around the lake by a friendly neighbour to make walking even easier. On a bright sunny day this is the spot to head for to catch dinner and just soak in some rays.

Evening arrives all to soon this time of year .............. but we know a pot of Mary's soup is heating on the wood stove,  so reluctant as we are to head inside,  dinner awaits.

The sun is setting as we reach the back door. The warmth of the house and smells of home-made soup remind us of coming home as kids.  Winter ............................. we love it.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you up here fishing soon.

  2. Hi Folks, Sorry about that! New to blogging. My husband & I live south of you. We are also very "green" people and would like to retire to the same area. Perhaps we can meet you sometime. Thanks! Lori & Doug
