ICE FISHING

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Wishing all our readers the very best in 2013.

Sorry for the delay in posting but we have been busy with company, birdwatching and ice-fishing.

I left Mary down at the lake. The boys set her up for ice-fishing and I'm hoping we have fresh fish for supper. (update: No fish for supper, we had eggs)

First job was to bait the hook with a live minnow.

Then use a hole that was already available.

With a power auger it doesn't take long to cut through the ice.

Ice huts are very portable yet comfortable. They are easily heated and come with swivel seats similar to those found on a fishing boat. On a sunny day an afternoon spent out on the lake is just fabulous.

Lots of snow up here but the roads are clear and the sun is shining. Today it is -14*C but we are having a great time ice-fishing.

Thanks for stopping by and all the best in 2013.
