SHOWER STALL

Another busy day yesterday with work being accomplished inside and outside.

Dave and Peter were here installing our shower. It is looking beautiful and by the time company comes this summer we should have the bathroom fully operational.

While the guys worked inside Mary and I worked outside on the maple syrup production. It takes about 9 hours to boil enough sap over our wooden fire to get a litre of maple syrup. It's a long, slow, cold process that just needs to be followed if we want syrup.

Yesterday I was able to extricate our propane tank from the ice and now we have another way to help boil the sap down. This means we can work under the protection of our porch to boil sap on those days when it's pouring rain (like today).

Slowly we are building our supply of maple syrup and looking forward to using it throughout the year. This is one of those rituals of spring (Switzerland, cows to the high meadows) so many cultures have and we are delighted to be able to participate in it.

Thanks for stopping by and safe travels everyone.
