NO SAP

Yesterday was a no sap day and that's just the way it is with sap collecting. Some days it flows, some days it stays in the roots. Today, not sure. We always hope that the sap will be dripping by the afternoon but if it stays too cold it doesn't happen.

We still need to finish boiling the sap we collected on Monday and will do that this afternoon. Maybe for breakfast on Thursday we will have pancakes with our own maple syrup.

We love having Owen here and he has enjoyed playing with his new firetruck

Never to have just one task on hand our new laying hens arrive today. When we ordered them six weeks ago we never expected to be doing maple syrup, so this morning we need to prepare the coop and spread some straw in the run. Fortunately Leanne and Sherri are here to help and I'm sure Owen will be excited to see the chickens when they arrive.

I'll post pictures tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by and safe travels everyone.
