RANGE HOOD

Living in the bush isn't as isolated as you may think. Thanks to internet service we are able to stay connected to family and friends, do research and order products on-line. Door to door delivery service is wonderful and if we can't find what we need in town we can get it delivered, thanks to the internet.

Yesterday the range hood arrived and we were excited to get another job done. As is often the case this came with free delivery so how can one complain about that.

First job was to get it out of the box and position it above the stove for a final inspection before deciding to keep it. Oh yes, it also came with free return if you are not satisfied.

I held it, while Mary stood back for a view of the placement. Looks good but wait a minute, what's that..............

Looks like the protective film has been scraped in two spots.

Upon closer inspection it was obvious the hood had been damaged in transit. What a disappointment. We were so looking forward to getting it installed and then tiling the back-splash but now that will have to wait.

A call to the supplier, a few pictures taken and sent and a new hood is on the way. Maybe this job will get done next week.

Today it's going up to +7*C and Peter is coming to install the railing, screening and screen doors on our back porch.  Hopefully we will get this job done before the black-flies arrive.

Sunny and getting warmer. Summer can't be too far away.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. An interesting option I discovered on the internet is to have the grille feeding air from a powered fan or passively to the kitchen hidden behind the refrigerator.
