A NEW VISITOR

Our nights still drop down into the freezing range but slowly our days climb just above the zero mark. That's good for maple syrup production but I'm ready for the real spring.

One positive sign that the season is changing occurs at our bird feeders; new species are showing up.

Yesterday this little guy flew in for a few seeds. I'd never seen one before and Mary guessed in might be a "Snow Bunting"

Checking the bird "id" book  I believe she was right. Unfortunately the sighting of a snow bunting is not a sign of spring. This is their winter feeding range so I suspect in a few days or weeks he will be heading further north to the summer breeding grounds.

Still looking for spring but enjoying whatever birds show up.

Safe travels everyone
