ANOTHER DAY OF FIRSTS

It has been a busy week. Some days we've had as many as 5 different trades on site the same day. Yesterday the propane tank and generator both arrived and the insulation was completed in the attic.

This is our 500 gallon tank being lowered into place. It should fill our needs for at least 6 months maybe more. I wonder what propane costs?  Can you see the name on the tank?

It was time to install Mary's fabric boxes in her quilting room. First I needed to drill pilot holes into our concrete walls for the tap-con screws. Wow! Bancroft cement is extra hard; went through 3 drill bits trying to get 8 holes drilled.

You can see the bottom row is in place. Ben and I took turns working the hammer-drill as my arm got tired pushing to get the job done.

But this was also a day of firsts. It was the first time Mary did a load of laundry in our washing machine with our water, the first time she cooked a meal on our propane stove and our generator did a test run for the first time and we were surprised at how quietly it ran.

Tomorrow we will take the day off and visit friends in Haliburton. Matter of fact we are going to take most of the next few days off and celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends. We have so much to be thankful for and family is number one.

Enjoy the long weekend and the fall colours and thanks for stopping by.

  2. Glad you aren't wearing yourselves too thin! I learned the hard way (getting sick) that breaks and friends/family are so important! Sad to miss you and everyone Monday!

who knew doing laundry would be so exciting!
