Yesterday we were up early so we could be in Ottawa shortly after 10 a.m. when the IKEA store opened. Ottawa is a 3 hour drive from Bancroft so it was a long day of driving but the route was scenic and the sun was shining for most of the day.
I waited outside while Mary went in to see if our order had been processed. Yes, everything we had ordered was stacked and ready to go. The back order items were not available and we are not sure when we will get them as their computer system was down.
Next step was to find the loading dock and get everything safely aboard. The guys brought down 3 skids of boxes and with some careful planning we managed to get everything securely on board and tied down. We had the trailer full, the truck full, inside the truck was full and the top of the truck was full. We didn't have room for the back order stuff so glad it didn't come in. Here I use my straps to secure the load; Don prefers rope, I prefer straps with ratchet ends.
On the way home we stopped to tarp the load as it was starting to rain. Fortunately it was just a few drops and now everything is here waiting for us to unload the boxes this morning .................. just as soon as Ben and his brothers get here.
Thanks for all the kind comments you keep sending.
More pictures tomorrow.
