Have you ever ordered kitchen cupboards from IKEA? Now they make excellent cupboards, and they were recommended by our architect because they do not use glues that off gas; but ....................... not all stores or staff members are the same. They may wear the same uniform, and on the outside the stores look the same; but inside you might be surprised.
Some stores have excellent help; friendly, full of suggestions, ones who make you feel welcome.
In other stores you feel like an intruder. The sales people ignore you and when you ask a question they are curt and demeaning. Not the place you want to come back to.
I believe head office needs to send in some inspectors who act as potential clients and see for themselves how their staff treat customers. Some staff members need to be rewarded, others need to be dismissed.
Options if you don't get the service you expect:
1) Try another store - next store is 3 hours away - not an option
2) Try another day - I just drove for 3 hours booked a hotel - not an option
3) Speak to management - that helped and she was very friendly and accommodating
4) Shop at the competition - be sure you are getting the same quality
I wonder if assembling the cabinets will be as challenging as ordering them? I'll let you know next week.
Let me know what your shopping experience has been.
Today our bunkie arrives; quality construction, friendly service, just the place you would do business with again. I'll post the pictures tomorrow.
Thanks for dropping by.

We did an Ikea Kitchen and just loved it. It was easy to put together once you got the hang of the directions (no words just pictures). We put up saw horses and plywood on our back deck and assembled everything piece by piece out there and then brought it inside. We have since moved and I really miss the features we had in the Ikea Cabinets. Good Luck
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe and Nancy;
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the sawhorses and plywood platform. Much easier to work at desk level than trying to work on the floor.
Thanks for keeping an eye on us.
