As Promised

We are delighted with the progress on our house. Thanks to family, friends and Ben, we have been able to get more done in a shorter time than expected. Here are the latest pictures.

Front door entrance with closet on the left and mechanical room on the right. The double doors are great as we move supplies into the house from the front porch.

Back door entrance with my office on the left and a closet on the right. Ben did a great job of framing up the interior walls.

Mechanical room with our 60 gallon pressure tank. The hot water tank, HRV system, batteries, breaker panel, inverter, charger will all be installed later this month.

Looking down the hall. We just need to get the walls inspected before we can call in the plumber and electrician. That is why you don't see any electrical boxes yet.

Huge windows in the "great-room". This room faces south and we hope the sun will be sufficient to keep it warm in the winter. We need to be able to monitor our systems and keep an eye on our interior temperatures so we will be staying home this winter. I know we will miss the Arizona gang, especially in February,  but we hope to meet up with some of them in Alaska next summer. It will be an "airstream convoy".

Looking north down the hall from the "great-room". Regardless of where you are in the house you feel like you are sitting amongst the trees. We love our design and method of construction.

Soffit, facia and rain gutters are now on. The outside is almost complete.

Look at Mary's expression. We picked up our skid of tiles while in Peterborough on Saturday. I think Mary was afraid they would break some as they pushed them into the trailer. No problem. TURCO tile in Peterborough is the place to go for tile in this area; friendly, helpful and they carry a huge selection. Thanks guys.

Looks like we are just about loaded. Now to get them home without cracking any.

These boxes hold our kitchen and bathroom fixtures. We shopped at Norm's Cash and Carry and we're very pleased with the service.

Today we have appointments in Bancroft so Ben isn't coming until 1 pm. Not sure how much we will get done but the last few walls are the priority.

Thanks for stopping by.
