Checked on our meat birds first thing this morning and they were all peeping and active; all good signs.
We decided to open the coop door and let them use the "run". Mary put food and water out for them as they eat and drink great volumes of both.
Mary's garden, so much more productive this year thanks to all the trees Nathan cut down in the spring along with the home made fertilizers Mary adds to the soil each week.
The large white cube is our water storage tank. This we fill from the water we collect off the house roof and use the water to keep the vegetables alive. We are so grateful to be able to grow our own food even for just a few months in the year. Nothing tastes better than fresh from the garden.
Thanks to Pat we have some very healthy Hosta plants in Mary's flowerbed. Pat was so gracious, digging up and giving us boxes of plants from her garden in the spring. They all survived and are doing well.
One very healthy Hosta plant.
Just finished breakfast on the deck; fresh, still warm, blueberry scones thanks to Sherri's recipe.
Those were delicious scones and made without eggs or sugar. Thanks Sherri.

ReplyDeleteThe garden looks great,
BUT WHERE IS THE RECIPE FOR THE SCONES!
I'll try to persuade Mary to post it but no guaranties.
