FIREWOOD

We have enough firewood, stacked and drying to last another three years.

Most of it is under a deep blanket of snow. This summer I plan to build covers for each wood pile and keep the rain and snow off.

Up at the house we stack enough firewood for a season. It is convenient and under shelter although some snow does drift in.

We started the season with the wood piled above the windowsill. As you can see we've gone through a little more than half the load but with heating season half over I think we will be fine.

We love our wood stove and have access to as much free firewood as we need so this is a good heating option for us.

Thanks for stopping by. Save travels Bob.

  1. When we lived in Northern California we heated with wood for about 10 - 12 years as our only heat. We always had a three year supply. Hard work but loved it.

  2. Hi Joe and Nancy;

    We are very happy heating with wood, work and all. Today we have two brothers and their dad coming to cut trees and thin the bush. They get a lot done in a few hours. I'll be helping so it will be a good workout clearing bush in 3 feet of snow.
    Always good to hear from you.
