Wal-Mart Camping

For the past two days we have been driving through Pennsylvania and West Virginia on our way to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I-79 has been a great interstate highway (thanks Don and Marvin for the suggestion) and if we had been 3 weeks earlier the colours would have been spectacular, well worth the drive. But our destination is Florida and we need to be in Fort Lauderdale by Nov. 20th for our cruise, that means long days of driving. For the past two nights we have camped at Wal-Mart parking lots along the way.

Wednesday night, camped just outside of Erie, Pennsylvania. Wal-Mart is open 24 hours a day here.

Wal-Mart on one side, road on the other, but it was secure and the traffic does die down by midnight.

I-79 through Pennsylvania and West Virginia; worth coming back when the leaves are changing colour.

Rest areas are clean and well maintained.  Those in West Virginia also provide dump stations for RVers. OK, too much information. Let's focus on the scenery.

We look tiny parked beside some rigs. Can you read the back door of the van?

Hope to reach Charleston today.

Don took the group shot at the top and did a nice job; thanks Don.
