It's getting colder, the birds are heading south and so are we. Monday we left Bancroft and stopped to see Marvin and Annie in Peterborough. We hadn't spent much time together this summer so it was nice to get caught up on all their news.
Tuesday we said our good-bys and headed to London to see my sisters. They all live in the little village of Carlisle so when you visit one, you visit them all. Isn't that great!
They live in the corn belt of Ontario and this is harvest time.
The machines are big and complex, harvesting and cleaning the corn in one pass.
We are always impressed at the farms here, clean, and well maintained.
Before the railroad came through this area, Carlisle used to have a population of 2, 000. Today I would guess there are maybe 120 people living in the village.
We will stay here for a day or two before crossing the border and heading down to Florida.

It's always a great feeling to finally start heading south. We will be in Florida about Jan 1st.
