As we were leaving Mistletoe State Park yesterday the camp hosts came over to talk. Now camp hosts are wonderful people, friendly, helpful, the type you would like for a neighbour. She was sorry we weren't staying longer but understood our need to keep to our schedule.
Mary and Barb (camp hosts) look over the list of state parks in the area.
Looks like folks down here go to church and then out for lunch on Sunday. Driving through Wainsborough we spotted folks lined up at a diner and thought if it was that popular with the locals we should try it. Unfortunately there was no place to park our 30 foot trailer and 20 foot truck so went for our second choice the GPS. Punched in "restaurants" and up came quite a selection, mostly the national chains, but we wanted local. Now normally we would have driven right by the building above; looks more like a warehouse than a diner but the parking lot was full so we found a place down the street and walked back.
Yes, the place was stuck beside a junk-yard, but the food was "southern fried" delicious, folks were friendly (several came over to chat with us at our table) and the price was right $9.00 for the buffet. No need for supper last night.
Now that we are so close to Fort Lauderdale, we are taking the back roads and doing more exploring. That means the pace is slower, the distance travelled each day is shorter and we will get a chance to meet people and learn some history of the area. Presently we are camped at Skidaway Island state park and will explore Savannah today.
Lined up waiting to get registered and then find a camp-site, lots of room so we had plenty of sites to choose from. I'll post more pictures tomorrow.
Thanks for dropping by.

Well done on going into the barn for dinner, don't know if I would be that courageous! Looks like you are having a fun time adventuring around.
