FIRST PLOW

We awoke this morning to 15cm or 6 inches of snow.

The first job was to clean off the solar panels then get the skid-steer going to clean the driveway. Living out here one needs more than a shovel or snowblower to clean the driveway quickly and completely.

Penny is just like  a little child who sees snow for the first time; she can't get enough of it.

It didn't take long to clear the drivewy ....................

............ as well as the lane back to our propane tank. I need to keep this lane open as we are expecting  delivery of propane in December. Our last delivery was back in April.

While I plowed, Penny explored her winter wonderland. Now she is sleeping by the fire exhausted from all her adventures.

Lunch is on the stove along with a pot of elderberry tea. We are staying safe and healthy through these challenging times; hope you are too.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Yeah elderberry!!! Do you have bushes? That is on my wishlist for next year. For now we use commercially prepared gummies but I want to try wild blueberry/elderberry and cardamom gummies for my kids. A real boost to the immune system!

  2. Hi Julia. We planted elderberry bushes down by our pond about three years ago. We now have eight small bushes we can pick from. Mary makes elderberry gummies for our grandkids and they love them, very healthy and a good source of vitamin C. Our bushes came from stock we found locally growing beside the highway up here. Just snip off some branches, take up and put in water until you see roots develop. So easy to do.

  3. I'll have to see what I can find Art, I wanted to buy some from an online seller but they were sold out due to covid. I'm excited to get some of my own ❤ stay safe you guys and I hope Penny recovers quickly from her surgery!

  4. Hi Julia;
    If you can find bushes growing by the side of the road then simply take some cuttings. They are very easy to transplant. Penny is doing fine, better as each day goes by. Stay safe and well.
