We had our first significant snowfall last Sunday during our drive home from Hamilton. Monday morning dawned sunny and bright so it was time to get some plowing done.
Fortunately my skid-steer fired up after a few hesitatnt attempts and I was able to get our driveway cleared.
Our road has always been an issue in winter. Since it's designated as a "cottage road" the municipality doesn't maintain it. Those living here have always hired a contractor to plow the road but it has never been done to our satisfaction. Usually by February we will be down to a single lane path through the snow. This year's contractor plowed the road on Monday and did a supurb job; down to the road surface and wide enough so we can easily pass other vehicles we meet.
Ice has started to form on the lakes so I think it's safe to say "winter has arrived".
Time to throw another log on the fire and think about breakfast.
Safe travels everyone and thanks for stopping by.
