Spray Foam Under the Slab

Today the crew arrived about 8:30 to lay down the under slab spray foam. This will be done in 3 passes, each pass being 2inches thick.

As you can see they are just getting started. Bill first sprayed around all the drain and plumbing pipes. Next he went back and did a first covering of the floor.

I'll post more pictures at the end of the day.

Thanks for dropping by.

Up-date 1 pm

The first layer of spray foam is now complete.

The entire floor area has now been covered with 2" of spray foam. Bill will make two more passes before the job is finished. What is amazing is the fact that you can walk on this product shortly after it has been sprayed into place.

Here Bill works at feathering the edge so we get a complete seal up the side of the wall. It will also act as a thermal break between our cement slab and exterior walls.

A close up view of the spray on the walls. (the spray foam now comes up to the bottom of that step)

The crew (Bill and his helper) left about 5:30 and these last few pictures show the floor area complete and ready for the heating coils on Monday.

Looking towards the south wall from the north end of the house.

Where the wall and floor will meet we sprayed up the wall to give us a continuous seal along that seam.  (The cement floor will come to the top of the purple spray foam.)

Front entrance. We had Bill spray the area under the slab entrance to help reduce frost penetration.

Note the base of the sliding door. This is where the cement will cover once we have it poured.

Another good day on site.
