Mary's New Passion

With the arrival of our first grandchild just weeks away, Mary has been busy knitting. She has been busy knitting since we left Canada, back in November so we have acquired quite a stockpile of clothes, hats, mitts, socks, etc over the months.  Add to this all the bargain gifts she's found as we travelled and this child is spoiled before it arrives.

While we were in Arizona, Mary found Navajo wool skeins and so the knitting frenzy started once again.

Now wool skeins are something I haven't seen since my mother and grandmother used to knit and have me hold the skein while they turned it into a ball. Guess what? I'm back to holding the skeins again.

Just a few of the skeins Mary bought and had me hold.

This bucket is full and we had to go out and buy two more just to hold the wool for PIP's hats. Yes, Mary considered the wool a bargain, so now we have three buckets of bargain, Navajo wool from Arizona. Did you know that the USA produces 17% of the wool production, third highest in the world. Guess who is first ................................ Australia.

As I drive, Mary knits, and knits, and knits. These are just a few of the hats Pip can choose from. I think PIP will look so cute in his wool hat.

Thanks for stopping by. Safe travels.
