Glass Garden

Yesterday Mike gave us a tour of the Glass Gardens in Quartzsite. Back during the depression this family started collecting glass and piling it in their yard rather than send it to the dump. Their children continued the tradition and today you have these beautiful yards full of glass of every description.

Take a minute to look at the creative way glass has been used to landscape a yard where very little is able to grow and survive.

Just one of the many arrangements in the "Glass Garden"

As you can see glass bottles come in all shapes.

Mike, counting to see if any have been added since last year. Yes, 13.

I like this: wire insulators surrounded by sea-shells.

Looks like a Christmas Tree to me.

Not glass but dangerous if you get too close.

Mike, Diane, Mary discuss this beautiful work in the Arizona sun.

Mary's favourite.

I like the way the bottles flow together.

One last comment then back to the trailer.
