The spray nozzle on our kitchen faucet came off in my hand last week. Even in new homes things don't last forever. It has been seven years of daily use and I guess it took its toll.
We called the supplier in Peterborough where we bought it and he said "bring it in; can't tell what is wrong until I see it" That's a three hour drive so time to think of an alternative solution. Check out amazon and they want $35.00 but that saves me a day of driving and $40.00 in gas. Decided to check the local hardware store and Perry gave me the MOEN number to call. He said they will probably send you a free replacement. Called and sure enough, three days later we had a new faucet hose.
Back when I was a kid fixing taps meant turning off the water (entire house as turn off taps under each sink or zone plumbing hadn't been invented yet) Next you drained the water line, open up the offending tap with a wrench and screwdriver and found the worn out washer. This usually meant you didn't have a replacement at home so a trip to the hardware store was needed; while all the water remained shut off. Today no tools needed, just insert, click and you are back in business, it couldn't be easier.
The entire job took less than five minutes and the tap is ready for another seven years of service. Guess it's time to do the dishes.
Safe travels everyone and thanks for stopping by.
