Junkyard

I remember as a kid going with my dad to the junk-yard.  If dad needed a part for the car, off to the junk-yard we went.

This weekend we visited our friends Marvin and Annie in Peterborough. Since the sun was actually shining on Saturday morning we decided to drive to Port Hope  for breakfast.

Port Hope has a beautiful historic downtown core, well worth the visit.

Then it was on to Cobourg to visit "Legacy" which is a junk-yard full of old building material.
If you need a unique piece of old building material for a renovation project check out this place. They have a web site to assist those from out of town.

Mary would like to find a 6 ft. cast iron bathtub "cheap" and she found a few to look at. Not cheap.

Inside, the barn was full of old hinges, doors, fireplaces, sinks, trim pieces, cast iron radiators, etc. etc.

....................... and out back .................... more cast iron tubs.

We may go back in the spring, when we actually need to decide what type of tub to install.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Oooh, so many amazing pieces. I'm sure you will find a couple to go in your place quite well.
