Today we are at Sherri and Rob's . We want to turn that pile of plywood into cabinets for the trailer. It's a perfect day for working on this project and with Rob's help we should have everything done by tonight.

DANCING BETWEEN THE RAIN DROPS
First job this morning was to re-assemble Owen's bed frame and secure it to the floor. The sun was shining, the temperature in the low 20s and it was a perfect morning to be outside.
We cut a slab from this queen size mattress for Owen's bed; everything is custom built and fits like a jigsaw puzzle. Mary is working on the cover as I type.
Then the rains came so I moved inside and worked on Kate's bed platform at the front of the trailer. Not sure how much Rob and Sherri will pay us to take the kids camping for a few days; got to be worth at least a couple hundred a day.
Next week I will work on the road side wall where our kitchen counter will go. Mary had a good idea of using some IKEA pieces left over from our house construction and I think it will look good; almost professional.
Time to call it a day and enjoy some supper.
UPDATE
Done!!! and very happy with the results.
Safe travels everyone and thanks for stopping by.

PROGRESS FASTER THAN EXPECTED
May 1st has arrived and we still have a ribbon of ice and snow around the far edge of our pond.
The elderberry canes we cut back in February are ready to be planted but we will hold off until just before we leave in the hopes we can avoid a late spring frost.
The weather here finally turned warm enough for us to paint and we were busy.
The doors, holes and bed platform all got a coat of white primer yesterday. Today we will get a coat of bathroom enamel paint on them and be done.
Even managed to get Owen's bed frame completed but dismantled it so we could get the floor and holes painted. Like I said it was a productive day and at the end Mary still had energy to make chocolate muffins for dessert. She is feeling so much better.

HOLES
Drilling holes in a perfectly good floor makes me nervous; I could hit a cross member or miss my target all together.
However having everything inside secure and not bouncing around as we travel down the highway suppressed my worries and the drilling began.
Perfect, just where I wanted it.
After lunch we will paint the floor and seal the holes; another job done.
Tomorrow we start on Owen's bed.
Stay safe and thanks for stopping by.

NEW FLOOR
Our trailer came with just a bare plywood floor.
Yesterday we laid out the tile just loosely on the floor so they could acclimatize to the environment.
Today after lunch we will click it together and install it permanently. We have just a little over two weeks before we want to be on the road again. We have a lot to get done in the next 15-20 days.
I'll try and keep you posted as we progress through this construction.
Thanks for stopping by and save travels everyone.
UPDATE 5:30 pm
Started installing the floor around 2:30 and
by 5 we were done. Very happy with the results; now it's time to relax and have a bite to eat.

A WEEKEND WITH GRANDKIDS
We are having a wonderful weekend with the grandkids. Kate isn't two yet but enjoys watching the movies on her i-pad. When I was two I was entertained by a wooden duck that I pulled around the house; times have changed.
Owen's school encourages the students to read at home. This morning he read to Oma while Kate watched her video. It was wonderful just to sit and watch. We love weekends with the grandkids.

HE'S BACK
He's back this afternoon looking for food. The snow is crusted with ice which makes digging for squirrels extra tough. He probably has kits in the den and food is essential. Seldom see a fox that close to the house so early in the afternoon.
