Today we put the gardens to bed for the winter.
We enjoy having our garden beds just a step or two from our back door.
Mary threw in some left over seeds before we left in May to go west. She added a few tomato plants when we got home and we've enjoyed lettuce, tomatoes, spinach and kale all summer.
This is the last of the harvest. We will freeze the kale and use it in smoothies. The carrots Mary will ferment and use throughout the winter. The cilantro you see in the background will be dried and used in soups.
Days are getting colder. Our wood stove is in service most days now and we can feel winter creeping closer.
Thanks for stopping by and safe travels everyone.
