ON LAKE CALABOGIE

We took the paddle boat out for a ride yesterday. Not as comfortable as it looks for old folks as one uses their legs to crank the propeller which puts considerable strane on one's knees.

Looks like an elephant trying to get into a bathtub. I was more concerned with avoiding a bath than I was about appearance.

Calabogie Lodge as seen from our canoe. Everything is close to the water, staff is very friendly and helpful and the units are well maintained.

The power boats belong to guests. I was told they will reserve a dock for you if you notify them ahead of your arrival.  For the avid fisherman this is a great lake for pike.

It didn't take us long to decide to switch out of the paddle boat. This canoe was much easier to paddle but very tippy.

Mary decided it was safer to fish from the dock rather than the canoe.  She spent the afternoon casting and we had chicken for supper.

We did enjoy the pool and sauna after our paddle, a perfect day at the lake.

If the sun shines today we will hike up Eagle Nest trail.

  2. Hi Lori;

    Yes it's the only lake in North America where you can fish all day and eat chicken for supper. Have you tried it?
