Visitors

Wasn't sure what to write about today. I thought maybe "turtles" as we see them frequently this time of year. Then on the way into town I got some pictures of a mother grouse and her babies so thought that would make a good entry for today, but changed my mind again. Pulled into Foodland and saw the camper pictured above. I knew these folks were special so waited for them to return. You never know what you will see around the next corner or meet at the next parking lot. That is one reason we like living here; everyone is so friendly.

Meet John and Elizabeth from Brisbane, Australia; world travellers who know how to do it right. Their custom rig is built on a Mitsubishi truck chassis  with a unique fully functional camper on the back. This rig is designed to take them anywhere, in comfort and without hassle. They can fit two of these in a shipping container so the cost of shipping from continent to continent becomes very reasonable.

Here they are getting set up for the night. The roof is retractable, pneumatic, so at the flick of a button the roof is up and they have room to walk around inside.

Cooking is easy. If they want a hot supper, just place the food inside the pot, bring to a boil on the stove then place the pot inside this insulated container. It will continue to cook throughout the day and by suppertime you have a one pot meal ready to enjoy.

John giving me the escorted tour, really just an explanation of all the hidden storage and gadgets in their rig. See for yourself how well built these units are: http://www.earthcruiser.com.au/home

This morning John and Elizabeth will continue their trip east. Newfoundland is their destination but there are many stops planned before they get to the "Rock"

Can you see their camper parked by the house? I'm sure they had a very quiet, peaceful night.

Safe travels John and Elizabeth. It was a pleasure meeting you and having you stay overnight.
