We'll be Back .......

................ to Red Rock Canyon. Had a fabulous trip to the canyon yesterday and decided on the way home to return today; just didn't get enough hiking in to suite the ladies. Part of that was caused by our delayed departure. Seems our truck was feeling neglected and unappreciated so she refused to do her part in getting us to the canyon on time .............. she wouldn't even start.

Fortunately I have CAA membership and they soon had a truck here to look after us. Daniel, the driver, was great and even brought new batteries for our sick truck.

By 11 we were on the road and climbing into Red Rock Canyon which is only about 15 miles from Las Vegas.

Mary, Don and Carol at the trailhead of one of the many hikes in the camyon.

OK, once in a while I get into the pictures. Yes, everyone was bundled up and I'm wearing shorts ......go figure!

Look at those cliffs. Now you know why it's called Red Rock Canyon. The rock is red because of the iron present in the soil.

Tomorrow we plan to come early and hike up into those mountains. Would you like to join us?

This I believe is a Joshua Tree cactus. If I'm wrong let me know.

The setting sun reflected off the red cliffs. It was beautiful, peaceful and so quiet, just the sound of the wind passing by.

A final look back then it was time to head home, but we will be back ..............
